Hey everybody this will be where I post about my potential novel The Adventures of Kassy and Jules Amadeus: Ghost Hunting Twins, provided I ever get around to actually starting to write it >>' but that's what you all are for! Motivation! I'm also undecided whether to make it one book or multiple books in a sort of weird series--either way--just sticking this here to see where it goes!
Story Notes:
Story Notes:
- In the prologue two pizza locations are mentioned, one actually exists in Speculator! Old Country Pizza is a real place, go forth and eat there if you ever find yourself there. Sadly, Old Towne Pizza does not exist and it never has (at least not in Speculator)...or maybe it did, and burned down and they keep it hush hush? Oooooooh.
- Following the note on the prologue: this story will contain real locations (whether it be places to go, states, towns etc...) but will also mix in fictional 'every town' places. If I ever finish this, and seek publishing it, I want to include in the back a real time list or map of the actual places they go for folks to explore.
The Adventures of Kassy and Jules Amadeus: Ghost Hunting Twins
Prologue: Old Towne Pizza (April 20,1995)
In 1995 there had been two pizza places in the town of Speculator, New York. For such a small rustic town, having two pizza places seemed a bit much particularly considering they were within walking distance of one another. Old Towne Pizza and Old Country Pizza could toss stones at one another if they so desired, and many residents thought it was much desired; the town was far too little for two pizza places.
By 1996 there was only one.
There had been much speculation over what had started the fire at Old Towne Pizza, as there often was in such tight-knit communities, but no real concrete verdict had ever been reached. Some say it was the product of poor kitchen upkeep (many pointed out that Old Towne had never been as clean as Old Country), blaming it on an excess of grease (many also pointed out that the pizzas were greaser)--this was the most popular theory. Others argued that it was the owner behind it all, trying to cash in on insurance--this came in close second to the first. Several other small theories emerged over the years (teenage hooligans, faulty wiring, a gas leak, an animal catching fire and running in), but nothing was ever strongly believed.
Nothing really could be believed, honestly, for nothing remained of Old Towne Pizza after the fire but a pile of smoking ashes. A pile of smoking ashes and two newly orphaned five-year-olds wearing birthday hats. The little boy did not speak. The little girl claimed she knew what happened. It took all of a minute for her smokey explanation to come out, though it was dismissed in an instant.
A town with a population three-hundred-and-seventy-one could believe in raccoons catching fire and causing a catastrophe but they would not believe in ghosts.
